Security
We really moved the needle with Protected Mode in Adobe Reader X. Now, we’ve enhanced Protected Mode in Adobe Reader XI to include data theft prevention capabilities. We’ve even added a new Protected View, which implements a separate desktop and winstation for the UI, providing an additional layer of defense. For high-risk environments, we’ve added the PDF Whitelisting Framework, which allows the selective enablement of JavaScript for both Windows and Mac OS, including support for certified documents. And, in the area of content security, we’ve expanded our support to elliptic curve cryptography.

Mar 28, 2016 My questions is: Does anyone know of any hardware that can be used to read these PIV Cards - OR software to enable an external Card Reader to be recognized on a Mac Device for the purpose of reading a PIV for this 'Dual Authentication' system? The SCR3500 worked flawlessly when connected. Windows 7 quickly recognized and installed the proper drivers. No additional effort on my part. My card (CAC) was of the newer type and was also easily recognized and installed by Windows 7 through this reader. At this point you have a recognized USB card reader, your personal PIV certificates are visible to Mac OS X and the trust chain is complete. This should be all you need to access or login to PIV.
