Both readers are obviously recognized by the Mac, and each reader will flash its light when CAC is inserted, but SCR331 goes to solid green after about 10 seconds, and GSR-203 goes from red to red/green but doesn’t blink. You guys are my last hope. I installed Ubuntu on my computer and have been trying to get my CAC reader to work for about three weeks. MilitaryCAC.com has good info, unfortunately nothing that helped me. I got three months of travel claims backed up and no way to submit them. Any guidance or an expert would be awesome. I have been in this sub-reddit for about a year and have seen some interesting posts, so I figured, might as well.
EDIT 2: In case anyone happens across this post, I have the answer. A VPN. As soon as I got a VPN running everything worked perfectly, I did not need to do any of that crazy stuff.
EDIT:Thanks for the advice so far. Currently, I am using the twice stated advice of 'http://www.spi.dod.mil/lipose.htm'. I had no idea that there was something like this program or OS. I am running into a slight problem in creating a bootable flash disk, but I believe it can be solved within the hour.

My current setup : ASUS laptop, IOGEAR GSR 203 card reader, firefox and Ubuntu 14.04.
